IHSA Western Team

The Colorado State University (CSU) Western Equestrian Team is proud to be housed at Paradise Ranch where they are overseen by head coach Ariel Hug. Students have the opportunity to compete in Horsemanship and Ranch Riding or Reining events. The team is open to all students at CSU whether they are new to horses, experienced in the show pen, or anywhere in between. The team competes through the Interscholastic Horse Show Association (IHSA) whose main goal is to make horses and equestrian sport accessible to more college and university riders. Tryouts for the CSU Team are held once per year and the team practices one to two days per week during the fall and spring semesters.
